When choosing a program, you must consider the duration of the program and your educational expenses. The home office stipulates that you show at least one (1) year of financing for your tuition and living expenses.
To put it more direct, if you do not have the money to cover your tuition and living expenses for a two (2) or three (3) year program, it is best to choose a program that is eight (8) months to one (1) year in tenure for a better chance of approval. Basic Eligibility Requirements to Study in the U.K.
- Get accepted to study at University that is a licensed student sponsor
- Have enough money to support yourself or any family member while studying in the UK
- Be able to speak, read, write and understand English
- Have consent letter from your parents if you are 16 or 17 years of age.

Passport
Your passport must have at least (6) months remaining before expiration. However, it is best to renew your passport if it has less than one (1) year remaining.
Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) letter from the university
The CAS letter is an electronic document issued by the university to support your application for a student visa. The CAS letter is typically issued after you have accepted an offer and paid the required deposit to secure your place.
Bank Statement
The bank statement should reflect the amount of money that your tuition fee and living expenses will cost. The money should be in your account for 28 days before applying for your UK student visa. During the 28-day period, this money cannot drop below the required amount for even one (1) day, or you will not meet the Home Office requirements, and your application will be refused. If the money in your account is in another currency other than pounds, the visa officer reviewing your application will use the spot exchange on OANDA to convert the amount.
Sponsorship letter
A signed sponsorship letter from your parents or legal guardian confirms your relationship with them and that the funds in their bank account will be used to pay for your education expenses in the UK. You can also be sponsored by your spouse if your partner is present in the UK or applying at the same time.
Birth certificate or an adoption certificate or official court document
Birth certificate or an adoption certificate or official court document which confirms parental or legal guardian status.
Consent Letter from parents or legal guardian
The consent letter is for children 16 or 17 years old
ATAS certificate
The Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS) that the British government used to certify international students from outside the EU for entry into the United Kingdom to study or conduct research in certain sensitive technology-related fields.
