Bank statement

Bank Statement is a common concern among applicants. Everyone wants to know how much money they should have in their bank account before applying for a Canadian Visa. In all honesty, it’s not all about the amount of money in your bank account. A person with JMD 50,000 in their account can get their visa approved, while a person with JMD 100,000 in their account gets denied. The recommended amount to have on your bank statement should be roughly 80,000. If you don’t have any money in your account, you can get a four (4) months transactional history of your bank account once you have money going into your account monthly. Most applicants that get a Canadian visa barely have JMD 100,000 in their account. The recommended amount to have on your bank statement should be roughly JMD 80,000.

Optional Documents

Additional documents that you can provide to help strengthen your application are Land title, Car title, and insurance certificate. These documents are optional. Most persons that are approved a Canadian visa doesn’t own a house or a car.

Visa Granted V.S. Visa Denied

This is a scenario demonstrating two(2) applicant, one being granted the visa V.S. the other being denied based on ties to their home country

Jody was granted a U.K. visa by demonstrating strong ties to his home country.

Jody is currently employed as a customer service representative for over 3 years. When Jody applied for a UK visa, she submitted the following supporting documents:

Jody was granted a UK visa because she demonstrated, to the visa officer that she is able to pay for her trip when she travels to the UK.

Mr. Campbell was denied a visa based on the fact that his ties to his home country were weak.

Mr. Campbell currently lives with his spouse and 4 children and has been working as a mechanic for over 5 years. When Mr. Campbell applied for the UK visa, he submitted the following documents:

Mr. Morgan was denied a UK visa because he did not have enough funds in his account to pay for his trip to the UK.

Reasons for denial

MOST COMMON REASONS FOR DENIAL

I was denied a U.K. visitor's visa and I would like to know why; my application was done properly, and I provided all the required documents as requested?

We know how disappointing it can be when someone is denied a UK visitor visa. Just so you know, when you apply for a UK visa several factors are taken into consideration before visa approval. The visa officer carefully reviews your visa application to ensure that you have sufficient ties to your home country based on the supporting documents you submit to the UK Embassy.

You did not provide enough evidence that demonstrate that you are able to pay for your trip.

Having sufficient funds available to pay for your trip is the most crucial factor when applying for a UK visitor visa. A visa officer can easily detect, without a doubt, whether an applicant can finance their trip to the UK based on the amount of money they are earning from their job, along with the amount of money that is in their bank account. We recommend having a bank statement reflecting at least JMD $300,000 or 3,000 Pounds. If you do not have sufficient funds in your account to pay for your plane fare and other incurred expenses, the visa officer will deny you on the basis that you are unable to finance your trip to the UK. If someone is unable to pay for their travel expenses, how will they sustain themselves once they have arrived in the UK? Travelling can prove to be a very costly venture and resultantly many successful visa holders resort to working in the UK to cover their travel expenses. These are some of the major factors that make obtaining a visitor visa sometimes difficult. So be sure to have sufficient funds in your bank account to finance your trip whenever you are ready to apply.

You have not provided enough evidence to prove that you will leave the U.K at the end of your stay.

The visa officer wants to know that you will leave the U.K at the end of your stay. As such, they will thoroughly review your visa application and the circumstances surrounding your travel plans, as well as other ties to your home country. Strong ties may vary from person to person; they generally include your job, house, family, and assets. Various aspects of your life bind you to the country within which you reside, such as employment, children, and spouse. If you fail to convince the visa officer that you will leave the U.K at the end of your stay, they will deny you under the pretense that your ties to your home country are weak. The visa officer wants to know that you have your job, children, or spouse to return to after a short stay in the U.K.

Unable to verify source of funds

When you apply for a UK visa, the visa officer wants to know how by what means the money in your bank account was accumulated. For instance, if you have ($1,000,000) one million dollars in your account and there is no transactional history regarding how you got the funds; the visa officer can deny you on the absence of proof as to how the reflected funds were accumulated, whether by personal savings or the money gifted to you. Especially if the amount was recently placed in your account solely for a bank statement to apply for a visa. The visa officer will be suspicious due to unclear indications of how you accumulated the funds to pay for your trip. Some applicants choose to ascertain loans and deposit funds to their accounts in one large sum. This approach is not recommended as when you make large deposits prior to your visa application submission; the visa officer will be in suspense to determine if the money will be available after your application process is complete. As such, we encourage applicants to provide a transactional history of their account which gives an overview of monthly deposits and withdrawals. You can get a transactional history of your bank account from your financial institution.

You haven’t provided enough evidence that you will leave UK at the end of your stay

The visa officer wants to know that you will leave UK at the end of your stay. If you fail to convince the visa officer that you will leave UK at the end of your stay, they will deny you under the pretense that your ties to your home country are weak. The visa officer wants to know that you have your job, children, or spouse to return to after a short stay in UK.

Failure to provide all relevant supporting documents

Many applicants who choose to complete their U.K. visa application independently end up ruining their application, as well as failing to submit all the required documents. Resultantly contributing of their UK visitor visa application denial. Let’s say you did not fill out your application correctly and/or failure to submit all the supporting documents-for instance, if you were arrested in the past and didn’t provide a police record, they will deny you, for the fact that you did not provide all the relevant documents to support your visa application.
Hire a professional immigration consultant if you do not understand the entire process and the primary documents needed submission to the U.K. Embassy.

You haven’t provided enough proof to support your reasons for visiting UK.

When you apply for a visa to travel to the UK, the invitation letter should state your reason for travel whether for: a family visit, tourism, funeral, wedding, or graduation. If you are attending a funeral, you must provide evidence of the death certificate. In the event that you fail to submit the right documents to indicate your main intention in traveling to the UK the visa officer might deny you due to unclear reasons for traveling to the United Kingdom.

Limited Employment and Job Stability

Being employed or working at a previous establishment for less than one (1) year indicates inconsistency and inability to settle in a job. The visa officer wants to know that you are working in a stable job for at least (1) one to one (2) years. The longer you are employed in an organization, the better are your chances of being granted a visa.
