Express Entry allows people to submit a profile to become eligible to apply for permanent residence. Persons ranked the highest in the pool will be invited to apply for permanent residency.

what is this program?

The Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) offers a pathway to Canadian permanent residence for individuals who are interested in immigrating to a specific Canadian province or territory. Each Canadian province and territory operates its own PNP designed to meet its specific economic and demographic needs.

This program is for workers who:

  • Have the skills, education, and work experience to contribute to the economy of a specific province or territory
  • Want to live in that province, and
  • Want to become permanent residents of Canada

Each province and territory has its own “streams” (immigration programs that target certain groups) and requirements. For example, in a program stream, provinces and territories may target:

  • Students
  • Business people
  • Skilled workers
  • Semi-skilled workers

Gather the necessary documents

Gather the necessary documents/ information that you will need to create your Express Entry Profile. You do not need to upload any documents; however, you will need information from documents such as language test results. So it is best to gather the necessary documents as soon as possible because some documents might take some time to get.

Create and submit your Express Entry Profile

When you submit your Express Entry profile, you will need to provide information based on the program you are applying for the: Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program or Canada Experience Class. If you are eligible, you will be accepted into a pool of Candidates. You will be ranked in the Express Entry pool using a points-based system. The higher your score, the better are your chances of receiving an invitation to apply for permanent residency.

Skill work experience

The maximum number of points a person can be awarded for their skill work experience is 80.

2.

Age

The maximum number of points a person can be awarded when it comes to their age is 110.

3.

Educational Qualification

The maximum number of points a person can be awarded for your education level is 150.

4.

Language ability

The maximum number of points a person can be awarded for language ability is 28.

5.

Possession of a job offer supported by a positive Labor Market Impact Assessment.

The maximum number of points a person can be awarded for a valid job offer is 200.

6.

Possession of a provincial government nomination for permanent residence.

The maximum point a person can be awarded if a province or territory nominates you is 600 points.

Gather the necessary documents/ information that you will need to create your Express Entry Profile. You do not need to upload any documents; however, you will need information from documents such as language test results. So it is best to gather the necessary documents as soon as possible because some documents might take some time to get.

Invitation to apply

If your score is among the highest in the pool, you will receive an invitation to apply for permanent resident.

2.

Submit documents

Submit the documents that are required after receiving an invitation to apply. If you are invited to apply for permanent residency, you will have 60 days to submit your documents for permanent residence.

Some of the documents that you will need to submit are:

1. Police record
2. Bank statement
3. Employment Reference Letter
4. Medical certificate
